What is the right age for Pinkys?

Im no expert ...... But when was the last time anyone saw a pinky climbing around up in bushes & trees in the wild?? Thats where Chams eat.....

pinkys no....other lizards yes.....in the wild at least.

personally i rather feed bugs, if it was meant to eat bugs. there are fat bugs, skinny, bugs, flying bugs, juicy bugs, crunchy bugs....now thats variety lmao

if you really want to give him a treat i say painted lady butterflies, mantids, or even a big fat juicy hornworm/silkworm would be awsome to see

Oconomowoc? It sounds funny...a chameleon will anything that looks "food" and fits in his mouth...

Well, for wild dogs when would they find crunchy dog food around the wild? When would cats find canned slimy food in the wild? I know they have been domesticated, but our chameleons have been domesticated in a way too.
...hhmmmm...dude whatever your point is way too deep for me...

dude these are chameleons an exotic reptile that we only have had way shorter than any domestic animal

in my opinion how is offering a pinky or an anole lizard domesticating a chameleon? doesnt make sense

partially i just think you want your pet to eat a pinky....which on rare occasions you CAN do it and the cham can be ok, but its not something you have todo

I ment domesticate as we have captured them and gave them lives inside our homes. But this thread has gone out of control lol. I'm moving on.

dude just chillax, nothing to worry man. research on either live or frozen pinkies, since your guy is young, one is more than enough, as an adult, one is fine every 5+ months, better max 2x a year if you want to....just make sure he acts fine

again i recommend bugs. hey we arent bullying you man. its a forum there are different kinds of people, dont get too worked up on us...lol we arent worth your time to get mad:p haha

anyway goodluck

I know, I know. And thank you for the information. I've never fed him anything but bugs and lettuce, carrots, stuff like that so when the day does come that I feed him anything else he will be surprised. And I'm not mad, just irritated that I couldn't get my answer as fast as I could have by just going to google instead of stirring everybody up .

I know, that's also why I posted the ;) smiley. 5% is nothing. I'm probably the whitest kid you will ever talk to.

So I want to feed Jose his first pinky but I'm not sure how old or how big he is supposed to be before he can eat one. I know it's not recommended but I want to give him a special treat for dealing with my newbie experience being as he is my first chameleon. He is 7 months and at a decent size I would say.

Havent read the rest of the responses.
My two cents is that pinkies are totally unnecessary and even potentially harmful. A better treat would be a few silkworms, butterworms, stickbugs, woodsows or even better a moth now and then. They love flying things. Moths have little nutritional value (much like pinkies) but they are small and chameleons love the movement/hunt.
