Hi everyone!! I have just purchased my second fogger in about 11 months and I had this last one a week and it is no longer working. I have been using the ZooMed reptifogger. The pet store I purchased the second one from is going to replace it. I use distilled water in it & have it set on a timer so it is not running 24/7. I have to have something to keep the humidity levels up!! I have a digital gauge and it reads around 30% most of time. I do not use live plants & I know alot of you guys will recommend adding some to help with the humidity but I will not do that(Sorry very stubborn) I have been a veterinary assistant for over 15 years & have seen alot of problems associated with using live plants. So please any suggestions on a different brand or anything Thanks:)

You are right, there are no true safe plants as all can harm in some way.
Buy ficus, pothos, and umbrella plants are quite safe for chameleons.
On the other hand, there is almost no safe plastic plant as well...
Even I was surprised to learn that chameleons have died due to impaction from eating fake plants
Just a warning, nothing else.

But plants alone won't help anyway.
A mistking also WON'T help you regardless that they do a great job at what they do.

What you are looking for is a "cool mist humidifier" to pump mist into the room and get the ambiant humidity a little better first.
Also ad a plastic sheet or use towels to cover at least the back of the cage.
I use towels as they catch and hold any sprayed water, and as they dry they release more humidity as compared to plastic that just let's all the water drip to the bottom.

Also, crack a window slightly as it will help in bringing in some humid air from outside your home while you are running your AC. You should be having some nice humid days and night this time of the year by your home.

Thanks Harry for your reply. I am going out today and getting a humidifer, I thought that is what I would need to do. Also thanks for the idea about the towels!!

I know that plastic plants can cause problems as well, working at a busy veterinary clinic for the past 15 years I have seen reptiles try to eat lots of crazy things!!
