Every so often he will claw at the light and try to lift him self up but give up and just hang there
Is he trying to get in the dome?
looking for more light? I'm saving right now for a tube style fixture
I don't know if I should be worried or not
I'm going to tie the lamp up to beam the light entirely over the cage I suppose...thinking about it now that shoulda been done reguardless
temps and humidity are where they should be
85 up top and around 80 in the middle

not sure what they are trying to do, but both of the chameleons i have owned did the same thing

He's getting as near to the light as possible. They would normally flatten the flank and direct it to the light, but when you have mesh to hold onto they will do. As long as you can be sure he's not burning his feet it's no problem.
An ambient temp should really be closer to 70 than 80 tho.
He has a fantastic casque!

Is your cage bushy or do you have pothos wrapped around the basking stick?

I have a few that do that when the basking area is cluttered, I thin out the plant they stop.

Try to think about the wild. They go to the end of a limb or the top of a tree to bask where its not so leafy. When its hot or they're finished sunning they retreat to the inner bushier parts.

Is that the Basking bulb or the UVB bulb he is trying to reach? would make a difference as to what he is trying to do. the color of the light looks like a UVB, maybe he isnt getting enough.

that's the uvb its a 5.o

It's a fake vine the pothos is kinda still growing at the moment

ill thin the leaves out on that branch its honestly the only one with the vine warped around it but the branch snakes throughout the cage the majority of the branches are leafless tho
