Today i was trying to get my veiled chameleon of about 2 months old to try eating from a cup which he has done a couple times before. But today he took a few slow steps tward the cup i was holding, then froze for like 5 seconds and then fell!! He seems fine now but it was really weird.
What happened!!

Sounds like he got spooked and just dropped off the branch. It's a defence mechanism to avoid being eaten in the wild. They will just drop off of the branch and fall to the floor. Their lungs inflate as they land, so cushioning the fall. Keep an eye on him for a few days to make sure he is acting normally. They are incredibly good at hiding things that may be wrong with them. Do his arms and legs look straight?
