How to ask for help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By providing this information, you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. Only an experienced reptile veterinarian who can directly examine your animal can give a true diagnosis of your chameleon's health.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

Pictures are helpful

Howdy Pattapong,

Cage Type - Aluminium cage have net around 50*50*100cm (20"x20"x40")
That size is probably ok for your 10 month-old Veiled. He may benefit from having a bigger enclosure at some point (24"x24"x48 is typical).

Lighting - have daily light in 10-11.00 some time have the Heat lamp for
Temperature - around 30-34 (86F-93F) That may be too hot. He may be better at a skin temp of (90F) of about 32C max.
How and where are you measuring the temperature? The best way to know about his temperature is with a low-cost infrared temp meter and measure his skin temp directly with it. What is the air temp just outside of his enclosure? (Example of infrared temp gun: http://www.tempgun.com/main.html)

Plants - I use live plant
Placement - out side my room that have nothing
Does he have direct access to unfiltered (absolutely no glass or plastic between him and the sun) sunlight during the day? If not then what UVB light source do you use?

Location - Thailand

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veild Chameleon 10 months male and 10 months long
Where did you get him? Breeder? Pet store?

Handling - 2-3 time per week
Feeding - Cricket Wax worm (gutload with Whole bread and some fruits and calcium every time I feed)
How many crickets and waxworms do you feed him every day/week? It looks like you may be dusting too often if that ReptiCal is the one with vitamin D3 in it.

Supplements - Dust calcium of Repti cal (With Vitamin D3?)
Watering - Spray and drop
Do you see him drink?

Fecal Description - 2 week agos
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Current Problem - his poop look like jelly like I told before above
Testing for parasites is a good idea. He could easily be carrying parasites that, under stress conditions, could be exploding in population.

Post lots of photos of him and his enclosure.
