What does this mean (w/ pics)

I have had my Jackson for almost a year now. This is my first chameleon. And so far he has done great. I am pretty confident in my husbandry, other than my humidifier broke so I know that my humidity is too low. I am perfectly open to criticism for that. I noticed early this week that some of the color on his back was staying brown, and now it has grown and it appears like it is popping up in other spots. Any ideas on what it is or what it means?

Thanks to anyone who take the time to look at this.

im not an expert...but how close is his heat light?? ....im only assuming that would be the problem because of the location of the spot....

Mmmm probably six inches is the closest he can get to the heat light. Burns were the first thing that came to my mind too, but why would he get burns after ten months? The light has been in the same place the whole time.

This may be totally stupid, but he's been growing so maybe he is closer to the lamp? Sounds stupid, I know, but they do look like burns. I would try raising the lamp a couple of inches and see what happens.

Sorry to hear about your little guy. He is probably suffering some discomfort with that burn. The burns may be a result of the lower humidity. Any such change in habitat can result in cascading issues. The burn should be treated with silvadene ointment (generally purchased with prescription) and the humidifier should be replaced asap. If you could increase the foliage in his enclosure, increase the hand misting, and raise that lamp a bit, that would help a lot for now. The extra misting with increased foliage will raise the humidity without the immediate need of a humidifier. I realize the lamp has been in that position for months, but apparently it is now too close for comfort. Do try to get that burn treated before it becomes infected. Let us know how he does.

There may be someone on the forum who knows how to get the silvadene ointment without prescription. It's a good thing to have on hand anyway.

Good, logical point. I would agree.

My veiled sustained some burns from his lamp (which I felt awful about :( ) and I elevated the lamp by setting it on top of an upside-down lasagna container with a hole cut in it. The light is now about 4 inches higher, and with my veiled's most recent shed the burns seem to be fading. Thank goodness. :)

So, I would agree to try elevating the light.

Definitely looks like a burn to me to, BUT you did say they (The Spots) are poping up in other areas. Define that abit better for us. Or post pic's if in other areas??

Looks like a burn to me. It also appears his left knee may be burned as well from the second pic. Not to sound repetitive, but I also suggest raising his light a few inches and replace/fix that humidifier to bump his humidity back up.
