What Does Healthy Hatchling Stool Look Like?

My baby graciliors hatched this weekend seem to be doing well. Their stool seems large and soft but I don't really notice any urates. There seems to be a bit of bright red color in what I expect is the urates. Is that from the bright red eyes of the fruit flies?

I am no expert. But I am in the same boat as you, in a sense of hatchlings. I've noticed my babies poop looks identical to adult stools. Same shape size and colors. Hopefully a senior member can chime in for you.

Could you put a picture ? I've never seen that, and as Scout said it should look like adult poop just way smaller

Red urate could be extreme dehydration... In hatchlings temps even just a little too high can dehydrate them in NO time.. Until they are older and can thermoregulate properly you have to be very careful

OMG I think you are right! I think I need new glasses. Do you agree this is showing dehydration? Suggestions please.

The first picture is as it came out of the cage. The second one is misted to separate it. There are three parts, the stool, the orange (horror!) urate and some sort of clear thread/string with a bit of red at one end.

I dropped the temperature in the room, turned off all lights over the baby cages except the UVB, misted and will keep misting and make it into a steamy jungle, which it should be this time of year in the mountains of Cameroon I think.
