What do you keep your enclosure on?

Hello,

So I've been looking around the net for something to keep my enclosure on. I want something that will allow for some drainage, so not a wooden table for example.

I have an 18x18x36 aluminum screen enclosure for the pending arrival of my baby ambilobe. He'll be 12 weeks when I get him. I'll be upgrading to a 24x24x48 aluminum screen enclosure and it would be good to use the rack, stand, the adult enclosure too when the time comes.

I have an automister and want to make sure that excess water can drain into a large container of some sort underneath, perhaps by drilling a hole in the bottom of the enclosure?

Any ideas/photos/examples/inspiration very welcome!

EDIT: Sorry, I meant to put this post in the enclosure section :s

I keep my cage on a metal rack. I cut a hole in the bottom of it so water can drain, and the weight of the plants forces the water to go down the center. I have a large bucket for my resevoir and a larger bucket for water collection. This setup works perfectly for me.

That's a sick setup. Two questions.

What UV tube light fixtures are you using?

Is there any drainage for the excess water from your mister?

Plants eat up 90% of the water, however I wipe each cage daily. It takes no more then 1 paper towel per cage.

Interesting, might look into having a similarly large plant in the center of my enclosure.

Do you know specifically what make/model light fittings they are? Having trouble finding one that looks nice.

Loving your setup but even more, the fender amp. Pretty cool and may I ask what yellow pedal that is :) (sry for being off topic)

I'm guessing its a Boss overdrive pedal? I am obsessed with pedals! :D. I use the same type of rack maliscious and vindicatedornot use. You can choose the height and positioning of the shelfs.

These are older pictures, I have modified some things. But this is the rack I use.

I put mine on top of dead bodies.. they absorb the moisture quite well.

Lol I'm kidding. I put them in the "under-bed" containers.. wide and loooooong.

I use a hydraponics tray (see below) sat on a table, boosted by bricks so my collection tray can slide beneath. You can see the channels in it all slope to a central drain. Fits my flexarium perfectly.

I built a stand for my veiled enclosure. I figured my pit's kennel would make for a good spot for it. There is going to be some modifications next month. I'm cutting the legs and lowering it. I'm putting a 4 ft tall cage on it so I would rather not have to get a step ladder to reach the lights. I have 1/2 inch think plywood walls in my house so screwing it right to the wall was no problem. And it's finally going to get a finish put on it wile it's off the wall.

I keep some of them on microwave stands...gives me a cupboard and a shelf below each cage. The shelf can hold a container to catch water from the cage in...and the cupboard below contains all the supplies (but the insects) that I need for the chameleon.
