HI! im new to this forum but ive found it very helpful in my cham research. the only thing im not sure of is what do the different colors generally mean? I bought a baby veiled (male) today and named him Mojo, and when i got him he was a very dark green, and after getting him his new cage he turned a light green. is this good? what other colors could he turn and what do they mean?

Well as you have probably figured out by now, chameleons do not change colors to blend in with their surroundings. They will turn colors, when they are hot, cold, happy, mad, etc. A lot of their colors and patterns has to do with body temperature and moods.

Thank you! he was very stressed at the reptile show today because the lady had him in a cage with 10+ other chams and they were all dark green or blackish. it was loud there with tons of people and they looked cold because she did not have a basking light on because if she had it on "they would all go to it and start fighting over who got to sit where." but right when Mojo got in the basking light he looked happier:p
