what can I put my enclosure on?

Right. i'm getting a new enclosure soon for my male veiled. Which will measure 24"x24"x48". I currently have a 16.5"x16.5"x30" enclosure which is placed on top of my chest of draws. This chest of draws is quite slim so therefor wont be suitable any more. I was wondering if you guys could give me an idea of what I could place him on? If not i'll have to go for a 18"x18"x36" enclosure which I know is the bare minimum but wont be THAT good for him. I also don't see the point in splashing out £115 on this 18"x18"x36" if its only a few inches bigger then the enclosure I already have. I was thinking of getting a table or something for it to sit on but I wanted to know what an ideal height would be (so my veiled will still be high up and above eye level atleast) obviously it needs to be atleast 24" long and 24" wide to be able to fit the enclosure on.

The problem i'm having is I find it VERY VERY hard to find tables or anything suitable that is the same length as it is depth, which is rather anoying. Also, something of this length isn't usually high as it most prob wouldn't be stable, but then again i'm not sure.

I used one of these:

Take some of the racks off, you have a chameleon steel cabinet.
Since i do not live in UK, i am not sure where you can purchase one.

But, generally, these steel racks are widely available in department stores such as walmart, target, lowes, and home depot.

how much are they usually are they expensive? Also, They are long but not much depth? which is a problem I keep having

'Focus' do something similar, actually a frame setup like that for a small greenhouse (yes greenhouse). it was about £20.

I would try to plan ahead and think about what your going to be doing with tank, will you be spraying alot, have you considered drainage etc

oh thanks mate. do you have any idea what it would be called or be under on their site? i'm having trouble finding it.

I put my 24/24/48 on two wooden tv trays. It is secure and fits with a couple inches extra around the enclosure. I draped an old plastic tablecloth over the tv trays before setting the cage on it to make it look nice. LOL It is waterproof because of the tablecloth and I just wipe around the tablecloth when I am done spraying.

I use the same rack dodolah uses they work well because you can just roll you chams outside...when you want them to get some sun, clean etc. You can also put a drainage on the bottom shelf.

Yeah I really want one but i'm in the U.K and finding one of appropriate size is hard.

The restaurant ones are really expensive well the ones I came across were like around £100.

Mine do stick out a little...I think mine are 24" wide x 72" high x 17''deep. the cages are 24" deep so there is about 3 1/2" sticking out on each side.

yeah i was wondering if a couple of inches would make much difference? (if a few inches hang off the front and back would it still be stable)

Howdy,

This photo is 3-4 years old. The stack starts with a 29" bar stool from Target (~$35) and then a big "Lazy Susan" for easy rotation (used to be at Costco ~$15) followed by my fancy homemade drain pan and finally a 24"x24"x48" enclosure from www.cages.net with the optional 1/8"x1/8" screen (really nice) and the optional, handy lower access door. The top of the enclosure is at 6' 9". It's topped-off with a simple 60W halogen Flood basking light and an 18" Reptisun 5.0 in the cheapie ESU fixture (with the plastic lens removed :)). The little dripper container isn't used anymore. The mist nozzle is on top in the middle and the drain bucket on the floor. Also, on the floor is the rarely used humidifier. Since this photo was taken there have been some changes including all of my plants are now on plant stands and the timers are now digital.

pretty cool simple idea with the stand also. I just get worried it might tip or something.

I found this but not good length and i'm not to sure about the height..

that should worked.
Unfortunately, as other people say, the width not quite work for 24 24 48" cages (since mostly are 18" length).
So, you'll have some part of the cage hanging outside of the rack.
I assumed it should not be too much of a problem.

My cages are custom size (28 18 50). So, the width fit that steel rack just right.
