Pygmy Chameleon - I'm sorry that you are not feeling supported here. We want you to succeed with your rescue pygs.
From my perspective, especially for those of us who have been on the forums for a few years, we see a lot of new members come and go who jump into chams without doing any research, they don't have the money set aside, they want to start breeding right off, and they refuse to self-educate or take advise from experienced members. They often then get rude and insulting, which becomes a self-feeding loop because no one wants to help them anymore. Often these people come back, way in over their heads because they haven't built the knowledge base and experience, asking for advice on sick or injured chameleons and get mad all over again when they are told to go to a vet. Or even worse, there are those who can't source enough fruit flies or don't know the particulars of baby care and kill a whole batch of baby chams.
I'm not saying this is you - I'm saying this is a cycle we see here, again and again. That's the history behind why we send you links to references and why people (myself included) have recommended that you hold off breeding for now. Chameleons are not necessarily "difficult" animals to care for, but they are rather unforgiving of mistakes. With your other animals, you well know that some species are more particular and more fragile than others.
On this thread, you are also getting some spillover irritation unrelated to you because of other members' nonsensical posts, bickering, and attention mongering - that's not fair to you. Please try to ignore that.
For my part, I don't have any experience with pygmies, so I can't help you with the particulars. There are fewer with pyg experience that some of the more common chameleon types like Veileds or Panthers - you will have to do a lot of research and reading on your own. The search function here is your friend - read everything. Your vet will also not likely have any pyg experience. Maybe someone with pyg experience can act as a mentor to help you through specifics, and you two can PM.
