i just got a new chameleon and he's super skinny. i'm giving him wax worms, mealworms and dubia roaches, but i'm curious if there are any other good bugs to put some weight on the little guy. any help is greatly appreciated.
he's just had a hard time of things so far. he's got a bad eye so eating is rough, i was told that he does eat on his own sometimes but mostly it's hand feed. he drinks well and was under a mistking system. i was told that he has been dewormed several times as well. i think it is just a matter of him not having enough to eat so i'm trying to fatten him up to a normal weight.
those are signs of something more wrong than not eating enough.
But, good choices for bulking up (fatty choices) include: superworms, waxworms, and butterworms, moths and large quantities of adult crickets.
Good choices to offer a sick chameleon would be different: young crickets and silkworms
Waxworms and sometimes butter worms and phoenix worms are usually available at your local big box pet store. I mention that in case you need something NOW.
