What basking bulb?

Ok! I'll look into it :) that means 75w is probably fine then right?
its actually not about the light, its just about the temp. not the light. some ppl could use the same heat lamp and end up with completely different temps just because of the temp of their house. For example, I don't even use a heat lamp for my female veiled and baby male panther and still get temps 75-80.

My adult male panther is on a tiny little 25 watt reptile heat lamp and gets temps 77-85

I also use a household incandescent. My fixture is rated for 75W max., but I found it will not support a 75W Halogen—the Halogens burn out within 16 hrs. of use.

A good old-fashioned 75W household incandescent has been burning for almost a year, and keeps things toasty warm. ;)
