What are your opinions ? (Handling)

Hey my little guy is 4 months old and have had him about a week thanks everyone for your input glad to see activity anyway I'v had him about a week now and seems to be very comftrble just starting to take him out slowly and for short times I eventually want to be able to hand feed him! Any opinions

I'm on the pro-handling camp, personally. If you can work slowly and with patience towards a chameleon that doesn't have an emotional upheaval every time you remove him from the cage, I think it'll be best in the long term (for cage cleanings, moves, vet visits, giving medicine, etc.)

You can start trying to hand feed now, if you want to try. I would start by trying to hand feed the first insect of the day, when he's most hungry and most motivated to get it. Keep very still and be patient.

And as far as handling, keep it short and sweet like it sounds like you've been doing. If he seems tolerant, great, and if not skip it and try again another day.

I completely agree... I had an extremely unsocial panther who developed an infection so we had to go from "never touch" to vet visits, meds and forced feedings. I wish we had worked more on handling when he was younger. I did with my two current chams and have had great results. Vet visits are much easier!

Thanks for that and it seems like the trying short handling is the way to go and more gradual as he complies and hand feeding wise I'v been trying to do what you said about the first one and he seems to just look at it till I put it down I'll keep working on that though I'm sure he'll eventually take it from me

Sorry to hear there was some issues with your chameleon hope all is well now and I agree with the whole handling in moderation thatnks for the reply
