somebody told me that senegal chameleons are a good beginner chameleon breed along with the veild. is this true?

they are great chameleons i have had 3 in the past and i now keep one. they have great personalities and are nice to watch. People say they are good beginner chameleons and im guessing that has to do a lot with the low price. A lot of the time senegal's can be really delicate since most of the ones you will find for sale are wild collected which means you would have to get him a fecal exam. Sometimes when you first buy them they seem pretty healthy and a few weeks later something goes wrong. i would go for a captive bread veiled for a first time keeper. but if you want to take the risk, senegal's are pretty awesome!! good luck!!:D

thanks for the info! i will probaby go for a veild, i was just wondering if there are any other breeds that are relatively cheap and good for beginners?
thanx

Senegals, Jacksons, Veilds, and Panthers (If you have the moo-lah) all come to mind when thinking of great starters. Veiled and panthers are probably the easiest of those, but it's not to say the others are difficult.
