weird stuff on chin

Soooo, I noticed the other day, some white salt deposits on my chams nose.. so I am starting to strictly only give him purified water from now on... and today i noticed some yellowish white stuff on his chin/bottom lip.. idk what it was but i took him out and wiped it off and it was kinda like a waxy substance.. has anyone ever seen this before?

Guesses:
-He could have wiped his mouth against a branch or leaf he had deposited a plug on.
-Maybe take a look inside his mouth to be sure nothing is going on inside you cant see.
-Could be from a feeder he ate today.
