Weird hissing noise??

Hi there!

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas

Ernie has recently started doing this weird short hissing sound.. He'll do 3-4 in a row.. The first time I heard him do it was a few days ago when he first woke up and now he's done it again, but it's 12.30am and he's been asleep since 6pm!

I checked his nostrils just this afternoon and all seems clear.

Any ideas? Should I be concerned?

Yeah, I would have some concern. This could be a respiratory issue. I would seek a vets opinion if it continues. Often this will occur with little bubbles from the nostrils, and an expanding of the throat area with a little whistle sound. My boy does this once in a while if he gets some water in his nostrils after the mister goes off, but it does not continue long. Hope Ernie is O.K.

Hmmm.. there is no whistling sound and no bubbles.. he's drinking well and had a vet visit just on Sunday and he had his mouth wide open for her to look inside I've checked again this morning and there is nothing blocking his nostrils and no mucus...

I'll keep my eyes and ears open over the next few days and see if he does it again or anything changes for him... thank you for your help
