SOOOO, my little man loves Silkworms...Cickets..and occasional mealies, but i have been trying to offer him some waxworms, and he ignores them?, I tried swapping the waxworm for a silkworm and (wham) then offered a cricket (wham) then another waxworm......(naddah) so just to make sure it wasn't appetite i offered another cricket and (Wham) Does anyone else have issue with offering waxworms? Silkworms are much pricier then the waxworms, and because my little man is on a diet he isnt getting many silkworms as his usual treat on treat day (once a week) so i was gonna switch them up for the time being for the easier stick in the fridge waxworms, but he is not liking the idea i guess. Opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just a picky eater. :)

We have a leopard gecko that does the same thing with repti-worms. She will put one in her mouth and then spit it out. lol

I just think its silly of him because the size is a little different but they look alot alike..kinda sorta.. lol, i guess he doesn't want to be a cheap date LOL :D If anyone has some ideas to trick him, im open to ideas, lol, i tried putting a 2 silkworms and one waxworm in his feeder bucket...slight of hand trick, he picked his favorites the butthead

Wax worms are really not a healthy choice, they are high in fat and offer little if no nutritional value ( good that he's not hooked ;) ) I would offer butter worms instead they are very high in calcium and you can actually get them cheap at walmart or try places that sell bait for fish ( a lot less expensive than pet stores! )

And i have untill next week to get ideas at this point...today is his treat day and he already is pushing his diet rules with me trying to trick him into eating the waxoworms, its crickets for the rest of the week, until next treat day.

I had looked at them, but upon opening the lids to check for quality, i was not happy, one container had moldy ones, NOT COOL. Im really gonna try them, i will order some from the same supplier i get silkys, and hopefully he wont be a picky butthead about them, lol.......anyone want a free tub of waxworms?
