wattage of heat lamp?

if i knew better how to search for previous threads, i probably wouldnt need to make this thread cause i believe it was brought up yesterday, but i am placing an order with Pangea(which after 4 hours of cross-referrencing i found has the best prices) & for the basking lamp, what would you say if the best wattage? I think it was said 100W is too hot

ps.... if anyone knows of a dealer just as good as Pangea, please let me know

usually 40 to 60 watts. I'm using a 40 watt now being that it's the middle of summer, & my basking stays in the low 80s for my panther in my house.

By the way, a typical house hold incandescant bulb works great for basking, and it'll probably cheaper than any reptile website can sell it to you for.

i appreciate your suggestion, so i took the basking lamps off the order, knocked it down to $300
