hey guys, if i get a habba mist(auto mister) will i need a dripper and waterfall?

also if you have time on your hands can you make a list of everything i will need to keep a panther chameleon, cheers guys:D

Well as I'm sure everyone will tell you.... NO WATERFALLS
The habbamist is kind of a waste of money, it doesn't really mist very well, it is more of a spray. The water droplets aren't very fine. It's also kinda noisy.
Most will tell you to just forget about it, save some money for a good mist system(like from one of our site sponsers), and just hand mist until you can get one.
You may not need a dripper if you mist frequently enough and see them drink while misting. Some of them are shy and won't drink while you watch, so the dripper is a good idea to have even with a mist system.

im in england and there arnt many misters around, the most frequent one here is habba mist

You would have to contact Marty from Mistking. I am not sure if he ships worldwide or not. He is a member of the forums, so he can be reached on here. You can also use the "contact us" option on the mistking website to reach him. He is very helpful.

Depends, do you want it to be automatic? If so, just build one yourself. It's what I'm doing. Check out this thread: https://www.chameleonforums.com/diy-hd-auto-mister-18660/

I bought the nozzles from mistking and shipped them to the uk (postage was only $9) so it's pretty good and much cheaper/better than anything you'll find over here. I've only connected mine to a pump sprayer (haven't bothered with a timer, but you can get one for £10 from homebase/B&Q) so that is definitely a better option.

As said, no waterfalls (massive amounts of bacteria can build up quickly!), habbamists are POOR (small reservoir, poor spray and similar to waterfalls bacteria can build up if not cleaned often) and you should still have a dripper going anyway.

If you want to buy one in the UK then look here: http://www.dartfrog.co.uk/equipment/climate.html but it £100 for the cheapest.... And I built mine for £40! :D

He does. Shipping a whole system costs $45 but if you just ship the nozzles it is pretty cheap (my shipping was $9.09 exactly) You can buy a pump off ebay or something and complete your system yourself!

I should have mentioned that option. That is the spray method I am using myself, just tired this morning(just got off work) and was bein lazy and didn't look up the link.
I have a thread on how to heat the water using that method of spray system too. I won't be lazy this time, here is the link to my https://www.chameleonforums.com/diy-water-heater-22390/ if you would like to try it.

i think i will make a trip in o homebase then and find a pump, have you got any pics of yors what box did it come etc.. just because homebase is huge and the staff wont help me so it will take me 2 hours to find the thing lol!:D but pics would help cheers

I built mine using one of these from argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7218053/Trail/searchtext>SPRAYER.html
The mistking tubing just connects in in the main reservoir and you're away. If you want a pump, look on ebay for hydroponic pumps as they're the sort of thing you're after and aren't too exspensive with p&p). I'll get some pics up of mine for you in a couple of days. It's only currently in as a temporary thing until I build it into my enclosure I'm planning!

Oh yeah, and if you want a timer switch thing, hozelock is probably the only ones you'll find: http://www.hozelock.com/watering/auto-watering/water-timers.html

That's a really cool idea for heating the water. I have a spare aquarium heater kicking around too. How hot do you want it to get to and also, do you ever have a problem of running out of water breaking the heater?

-sorry if these things were covered in your post, but I just looked at the pretty pictures to get the idea! :p

It's pretty well sealed up with either design, so evaporation is verrrrry slow. I just check it from time to time. Since I posted the new design I haven't refilled it. It is down about a 1/4 Gallon, but still about 5" of water total. Plenty of water still in there so no issues with that. I'm only using a 25w heater. It can only get the 3 Gallons in the new setup to 95(F) degrees, but it has better heat transfer with the copper tubing, so the spray temps are just as warm as with the 105 (F)degree temps., and the poly tubing in the original 1 Gallon setup. I am not sure what an ideal mist temperature would be, I have mine at about 87-90(F) degrees. I would probably go a little warmer if I could, but not a whole lot. The extra 5(F) degrees I would want doesn't warrant the cost of going out and buying another heater. Also, you will want to make sure your heater isn't regulated to only go up to 85(F) degrees or something like that, a lot of the newer ones are set up to shut down if they get hotter than that. Even 80(F) degree water is better than room temp I guess if that is the only option you have heater wise.

sounds great, nice way of heating the water! great job:D

The HabbaMist will work, if thats what you can get and afford. It should be called a habbaSpitter though, as it doesn't really put out much of a mist. All that really matters is that it is able to get water to the cham when he needs it. If you go for the HabbaMist just be sure you point it to spray the leaves to provide plenty of drinking oppertunities. A MistKing system would be a great item if you can afford one in the future.

ruffly money wise how much does it cost to properly kit out a panther chameleons cage?

In dollars and based of US distributors. You can cut corners, but this is what I spent, roughly. Some items like, humidifier and stuff are optional.

Cage - $85 (you will need a juvenile cage and adult, so be prepared to buy 2, this is the price for 1)
UVB Tube - $14
UVB fixture - $30
Basking Light - $4
Basking Light Fixture - $4
2 Sheffelera Aboricola's - $30
1 hanging pothos - $6
2 bonsai pots - $24
Bag of organic dirt - $5
Bricks to put cage on - $10
Plant stand - $10
Various tubs for bugs and water collection - $20
Dripper and tubing - $10
Hand mister - $8
Thermometer/humidity gauge - $10
Humidifier - $30
Odds n ends (zip ties, piping, wall protection, paper towels, etc) - $10-30
total = a little under 300 US dollars

Panther Chameleon - $150 - 200
Feeders - more

I ended up spending way more than I was expecting to, with random trips to the hardware store and stuff. But once you get all that going, its kind of gravy.
