Water for Drinking

I have a 1 1/2 year old Panther Chameleon. In the first few months we had a dripper for him to drink water, however we noticed that he doesn't like the dripper and he would just go down to the bottom to drink water from the bottom (it is plastic). Over the last year we just spray water for him in the bottom where he likes to drink it from and make sure that we clean it at least twice a day. My husband is not loving this idea anymore and wants to see if there is something out there that could catch the water for him to drink it from. He mentioned that he read somewhere that certain plastic plants hold water well, but we could not find any online or in the local stores. Any ideas?

just look for vines or plants with longer flatter leaves and mist them hard with a spray bottle and see if hell drink from them. i actually got these purple leaved vines that have a cloth leaf with a mild plastic coating that the water kind of sticks to in droplets. these are kind of like the fake flower shop type of leaves.

I had a problem finding a way for my male to get water. He didn't drink from the leaves only from a syringe. I am trying to wean him off that. I had gotten one of those Bio Bubble drinking fountains that were made for chameleons but he never went near it. PetSmart has a leaf dish that I rigged to the side of the cage and I got a dripper so water drips into the leaf dish and I have seen him drink from it several times and I've only had it for about 2 weeks. Good luck finding something that works!

Our male veiled drinks from a similar set-up as the leaf dish, only we used a small plastic lid mounted at an angle under the dripper. The drops fall on the leaves, then into the lid, then collect in a small bowl on the floor of the cage.

A very small amount of water collects in the lid, then he drinks from there, as well as from the leaves. We wipe it out every day to keep it clean.

Here's a short little video of him using it. The drips hitting it got his attention.
