wanna make sure hes doing ok

sorry to keep posting but i just read that form and nothing was mentioned about a night bulb. i was sold a night bulb which is a purple 75w moonlight. should i remove it IMMEDIATELY!??

Yes it should, well lets put it this way. You have to have a designated basking area and so you can postion a branch under the basking light(is it a dome?) and adjust to get that temp. Make sure you keep it around 8or so inches below the light so your chameleons casque cannot touch the top and get burned!

Yes remove the nightlight! Chameleons like it DARK to sleep! no lights required at all! It won't hurt them physically but might interupt them from sleeping.

wow! I am sorry you were sold all this stuff in error. It is really just typical for a petstore it seems. There are very few that really know the correct care for chameleons.

Unfortunately, they sold you something you don't need. Chams need it dark at night so they can sleep so no heat bulbs or night bulbs at night.
Trust me you're not the first one that has had to rearrange your setup because the pet store sold you stuff you didn't need. Chams are so specialized that many stores just don't know enough about them. It's a good thing you're changing things now because you wouldn't believe the amount of people that have come on here with a sick cham because a pet store gave them the wrong advice. It's really sad but at the same time it's not the owner's fault because they assume and should that the pet store knows what they're talking about.
