Walter Licked My Finger!

Today I got home from the feeder store, and there was a realllly tiny silkie in the bag, a little treat.
I decided to dust it and feed him. Since it was so tiny, I let him eat it off my thumb. He got it and hit my finger. For those of you who haven't felt the tongue before, it was soooooo sticky. I know they're sticky, but it was crazy sticky.
It felt exactly like those childrens books with the fake gooey cham tongue
in it. Just like a sticky, mucus-y, jelly, thingy.

Just wanted to share!

way too sticky is a sign of dehydration. not going to judge this or jump to conclusions, but yes, just for future references.

the day i got my fischers cham, he was so thirsty. disgustingly dehydrated, i sat down on my lawn with a bottle of water and got some on my hand, he litteraly rushed over and started licking the water off of my hand. it was way cute but also sad that he was that thirsty. i dont reccomend ever doing this with a cham or any reptile in a condition like that from a pet store. but i fell in love with him, and took care of him the best i could. he is down doing wonderful

I don't think hes dehydrated, hes got great white urates and nice plump turrets.

I have never heard this, do you have any info backing this up?

Chameleon tongues are supposed to be very sticky. I would not worry unless there is excess saliva or mucus in his mouth.

I've been hit by tongues of chams that are quite well hydrated and been surprised at how sticky they can be.
