Waiting period?

I just got Handsome Jack yesterday, and for those of you that don't know, he's a 4-month old Jackson's chameleon. How long should I wait before I try feeding him for the first time?

You can feed him. Don't worry if he goes off food for a few days while he's getting settled. Just make sure he has plenty of water.

He wouldn't accept food yesterday. Should I wait another day or two before offering food again? How long would he have to "fast" before I need to worry?

I would keep offering him one or two small things a day. It might be helpful to put them in a cup or in the cage and leave the room. He might be more apt to eat with some privacy.

It's totally normal for a new cham to not eat for several days. My stubborn little guy didn't eat for almost 9 days. I was worried sick about it, and he started chowing down like a champ. He just needed time to adjust to his new home.

I dumped some crickets in Handsome Jack's cage, and I wanna say he probably ate a few while I wasn't watching. He seemed to be pretty interested, but he wouldn't eat with me standing there. I think he has something against Dubias.

I emailed the dude who sold me Handsome Jack, and basically we determined that he's probably just eating without me around. He pooped yesterday, which is a good sign.
