Virgin Egg Laying - Veiled vs. Panther

So I have a question about young female chameleons' likelihood of becoming gravid and if panther females that are coming of age should be automatically provided a laying bin in their enclosure.

My little Nosy Faly girl is about 5 months now and as far as I know she and my approximately 6 month old (and definitely 'pubescent') male Sambava have not seen each other yet (they have a visual barrier between enclosures and I'm pretty diligent about putting up a visual barrier on the front of the other's cage when I take one out).

Please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that just seeing a male could elicit egg production. But what is the likelihood of egg production without having "seen" him?

It is also my understanding that with female Veileds, it's pretty much automatic that an egg laying bin should be offered 'just in case'... Is this also a good rule of thumb for Panther females, or should I just offer the bin if she shows signs of being gravid?

I'm just a little confused on this point and have heard conflicting opinions regarding this. I would greatly appreciate any information from other members based on your experiences... Thank you!

Veiled Babies?

didn't want to start a new thread, but is it fairly difficult to produce eggs and successfully hatch them (veiled chams) if you have good experience raising the parents but have never hatched eggs...the only thing i've ever done was when I was younger my friend and I had two wild caught Jackson's from Hawaii his cousin smuggled over in a Wendy's cup (this was before 9/11) and they gave birth to live chams i believe? correct me if im wrong, but since I've never actually experienced incubating/hatching and all that good stuff, is it that much harder? Any good threads advice or websites to read on this?
