Vining wood / roots

I’m pouring over potential plants for a large enclosure, and am trying to think of a woody, vining plant (or more likely a leafless cutting of branches/vines). Wisteria branches would be perfect, if it were dead branches.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? This is my inspiration... looking for something like the trailing roots show. I may try a DIY with various wood types. Thanks for any input!

That reminds me of our conservatory here. Gives me so many crazy vivarium ideas lol. Anyway, grape vine comes to mind, but I think most or all need a dormancy period and like more dry conditions. There might be a species that doesn't though. Just a thought

Thats actually from the Pittsburgh conservatory!! If we came up Saturday, as planned, that was where I wanted to stop. Maybe that’s why my husband wanted to skip Saturday lol

Knew it looked familiar lol. It's a pretty cool place. I've only been there once in like the past 15 years, but went there recently with my wife. I was overwhelmed with the cham possibilities. Kind of like going into the container store for bug bins.

I've been eyeballing wisteria for a while, would a live plant be ok? Of course without the flowers

The flowers and seeds are toxic to dogs, so I’m not sure. The wood/branches would be fantastic, though. I need to doa little more research to ensure the wood is safe.

I have japonicus linecera (honeysuckle) and passion flower with good success, except passion flower requires so much water uugghh and honeysuckle requires a higher ph, so I have rocks and sand in thd pot

Well wisteria is out! The whole plant is apparently toxic and the berries are very toxic to humans and animals. Man!!!

Passion flower plant are not woody, honeysuckle is, I also only have furcifer purdalis, and mine don't eat plants, at least I have not seen them or found bite marks
