My vieled female is obviously ready to lay eggs. We placed a egg laying bucket in her enclosure, same bin we have used suc:confused:cessfully with our panther chameleon. She has messed with the sand a bit but still finding her on the floor of her enclosure looking around. keeping the room quiet with as little intrusion as possibe. Am I missing something? Its been 23 days since breeding and she is def looking around for the right spot. Am I being impatient?

There is no way to out guess her. She may want a different laying bin, maybe sand if you have soil or soil if you have sand. You can try another type of bin or make sure the soil is damp in her current bucket and leave her alone. Good luck.:)

My first cham had two different bins in her cage - one of sand and the other with compost/soil in. Her first clutch was laid in compost/soil and the second was laid in sand. She also kept trying to dig around the base on the outside of the bins so I built up a 'false floor' to make the bottom of the cage level with the top of the laying bins so that she couldn't get any lower. It worked a treat! When she is digging just leave her alone and only offer food and water when she is back up in the branches.
