Off hand, do any of you know of a good vet around Southern California? Thought I'd ask before digging through the list on the forums

None of my chams need a visit, but I want to have the information on hand just in case :)

Thanks in advance :D

I just asked this same question a few days ago. It's seems like the general consensus is this place is the best:

Dr. Tom Greek in Yorba Linda is an awesome vet with in-depth experience with chameleons and exotics. I have been with him for over a decade and have taken everything from brookesia to parsonii to him. He knows his stuff and will tell you like it is.

I've heard great things about Dr.Greek. I do not trust All Creatures Care Cottage. Had a bad experience with one of my pups there and I actually had to take the case up with the Veterinary Board of Medicine. It was quite a few years ago but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I have used all creature care cottage and would not go there again. this isn't bragging, but I think I know more than they might as they aren't active in the keeping of chameleons. Maybe the vet would be good if you had a working relationship and mostly saw them to get a prescription filled.... but if you are clueless, don't see them. When I saw them it was for a chameleon that wasn't eating. it turned out to be the CFL UVB lamps had made the cham blind, we lost the cham shortly after the visits. Not the fault of the vet at all. But this was at the beginning of the whole CFL killer crap that happened back in 2006-2008.

Dr. Greek is great. He has a lot of herp experience. Even he will tell you this, most health issues are husbandry related. So he will help you work through that and get you the care your animal will need. His reptile visits aren't too badly priced either. He has a very nice office and is worth at least a simple vet visit. They even send you email notifications to remind you of check ups for each animal.

I've been to Dr. Greek and I like the fact that he doesn't try to get every penny out of you. He does seem really comfortable in handling chams. But I was a little bit disappointed that when the last time I took him he didn't ask me a single question regarding husbandry. I'm the type of person that wants a doctor to ask me things so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and fix it. I had both of my boys go see him.
