Very wierd

So my approximately 5 month old male vieled seems to be fine when I interact with him or feed him he will hunt for crickets eats hornworms out of my hand but will pretty much sit like this in his basking spot all day if left alone kinda turns a brownish gray color as well but he seems to be doin well other than that any opinions I know they say he shouldn't be sleeping all day but it seems to be just what he does when left alone or at least sitting there with eyes closed

Could you post pictures of your enclosure and branch arrangement? Your male Chamaeleo calypatratus could be sitting in the one open branch space that is available in your enclosure. Adding more branches to allow him to cruise and roam the enclosure would help. As well your male Chamaeleo calypatratus looks thin. I recommend offering him a variety of feeder insects to gain some weight. That males back leg could use some extra weight.

I only got him 3 weeks ago been feeding pretty well except two days since I got him been doin gut loaded crickets and gave him a horn worm this morn as a treat he does hunt still hunt until full and here's a few more pictures I know enclosure ia small it 18x18 x24 in process of making a larger one

Hi and welcome. I’m afraid your guy doesn’t look very well. I have a ton of questions so that I can try to help you figure out what might be going on and how to correct it. If you could copy/paste the following with your answers, we can get started. I will color the most important info needed in red, if you prefer a shorter version.

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?

• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?

• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?

1 he's a male vieled chameleon don't know age aprox 5 months os guess from other posts on this forum
2 I've had to handle him enough to wake him up so he'd start hunting to eat otherwise he'd sit there with his eyes closed all day and not even know there was food around
3 I do about 10 tp 15 small to med size crickets daily right now and I dust them with calcium powder and gut load with banana blackberries carrots and greens wich ever I have available at the time
4 he gets calcium powder every feeding and d3 every 2 weeks so far
5 I most once in morning and once a t night by hand for about 2 min until enclosure is saturated it dries out prett quick to 30 to 40 percent humidity in daytime and stays around 80 percent at night also has a dripper going about 10 min a day does drink from it as well
6 fecal looks good white and and solid have not been tested for parasites as far as i know do not have reptile vet around me
7 not much history I've had him about 4 weeks now and he wasn't moving around at all for a while after he ate fake moss but was still pooping after that and seems to have improved a little after adjusting tank some if you look at my other posts you'll see how much I've changed already

Cage Info
1 he has a glass exo terra 18x18 x 24 cage with screen on top am currently building new 2x2x4 cage for him all screen
2i have the zoomed uvb 24 inch light on top about 8 inches from highest branch and a single 60 watt basking bulb on a 12 on 12 off schedule 7am to 7 pm
2 I have a laser temp reader his basking temp is 85 to 90 and his ambient temp is around 75 in the day at night it stays around 65 to 70
3 his humidity in the day is 30 to 40 percent except when I mist it shoots up for a little while at night it's around 80 I have a hydrometer in his cage
4 he has a money tree a spider plant a polka dot plant and I can't remember names of other but they are on the safe list provided by this forum full list on other posts ive made
5 his tank is about 4 1/2 ft off ground to top of cage (again in proces of building bigger and taller enclosure that will be higher)
6 I'm located in wisconsin

No, afraid not. Closed eyes during the day is a sign of sickness. I quickly looked & see that @Beman had helped you previously (she’s awesome), but I’m not able to read thru it atm. (Am working) When I can, I’ll go thru everything, including your previous posts.

You have got the one branch in your terrarium. Again, I recommend adding more branches that should help make more movement easier with your male Chamaeleo calypatratus in the terrarium that you have. I would add more branches although your terrarium is a small terrarium.

Sorry for the delay. Your husbandry doesn’t look bad at all, except your temps are too high. Bring them down to around 82-85. Poor guy is baking inside the glass with 85-90 temps. You definitely need to have him checked for parasites. Even if already done, get it repeated. It is very possible to get a negative result if the parasites aren’t shedding (whatever it is they shed that shows) in the poos. Some parasites aren’t very nasty and can prove fatal if untreated. It is in no way normal for any healthy chameleon to close its eyes or sleep during the day.
@Motherlode Chameleon has given you the best advice, and that is adding more for him to move around on. He is too big now for such a small enclosure and has nothing to walk around on. He needs no less than a 2x2x4’ enclosure and fill it up with lots of branches, vines and safe plants. Males can be very active and do regular patrols of their enclosures several times thru the day. Your sweet guy has nothing to patrol or move around on and limited space. Think of it as keeping a dog in a crate 90% of the time. I keep all of my chameleons each in their own double sized enclosure and they use all of the space, even the girls do. I’m very fortunate to have the ability to give that to them all as it’s wonderful to see them active and content. While it can be a challenge to hang plants, branches & stuff in any enclosure, there are ways. Dragon ledges https://dragonstrand.com/dragon-ledges/ garden trellis, create a scaffold structure, faux background, etc.
Here are some of my enclosure set ups to give you an idea or inspiration of what your handsome guy needs. *these were all for panthers and the last one was just done and not yet grown in but it shows the branches well. I actually added more later.

So kamilly seems to be doin better now that we've made corrections to his enclosure and his supplement intake he starting to move around more in the day and keep his eyes open more also I think he may have been a little impacted but thinking he finally passed the fake moss he ate 2 weeks ago but does this look healthy for his poop

Hi there, just wanted to say here is an enclosure below that is a good size and reasonable. Not sure if these are available where you live. I have to agree with the above he needs more room. He is beautiful! Hopefully you can make some adjustments and he’ll continue to improve.
The poop looks a little mucousy. Definitely recommend a fecal test to rule out parasites.
