Very large T. Deremensis. Gravid?

I've had my three horn pair for 4 months. I'm not sure if my female came Gracie but she is quite fat and is basking a lot. What would a non Gravid female weigh? And what should I do other than provide a lay box?

We have so pro's on deremensis on the forum. I am not one I them. I had one clutch of 41 babies and ran like crazy.:eek:

If you post pictures it is easier to try to say how gravid she is.

Except for the laying bin, I would give her a bit extra food, and extra calcium. Try to make sure her general health is as perfect as you can get it. Good luck.

No way you can tell just by weight. Did you see your pair mate? Both my females turned a different color when they became gravid. One female turned green to almost black, one turned orange to green. A 3rd female I purchased a couple months ago just turned from a red/orange color to green, so I am thinking she is gravid.

Not sure this time of year is the right time for laying, however, I don't have enough experience to tell you that for sure. Both my females mated this time of year and layed eggs in April. It is possible they can lay multiple clutches, however, mine did not. You can feel eggs in her if she is close to laying. If she becomes restless and wanders the cage, that is also a sign she is ready to lay. Other than that, try to leave her alone as much as possible and do as Laurie stated. good luck to you, I'm sure you'll get some eggs eventually.

Alright, both helpful so thank you. They were imported from Tanzania in August so if she did breed it would have been before she came and if they are the same as Uroplatus this is breeding season (in Maddy). I'll give her a visual tonight and just see how she does. Thanks guys!

Tanzinia and Maddy are quite close. I would assume some of the same weather patterns and conditions. Season, barometric pressure, climate to an extent, etc.

Oh, Maddy meant madagascar in your original post. Was confused there. Still, I'm not sure how close their breeding seasons are. Something I probably should do some research on
