Veiled/Yemen retained sperm clutches

Pretty much everything I've read says that clutches from retained sperm tend to produce weaker offspring. But it's hard to find details on how much weaker they are. I suppose my question is - Are they so much weaker that it's simply not worth incubating them or is it possible to produce a decent amount of viable, healthy offspring?

Where did you read that?

Ive bred a couple times, and followed other breeders for a while, and never heard that.

Usually it's the health of the female that can cause weaker babies, not so much retained sperm from the male. As long as the female is healthy and in good condition, definitely incubate the eggs and see how they do :)

As an example. There were a couple of others although admittedly I haven't read a huge amount as it's hard to find much info on the health of retained sperm clutches compared to the first clutch after breeding.

Do you think this could be a misconception brought about by females still recovering from their first lay then?
