I have 2 year old, male veiled chameleon in a screened habitat containing live and fake plants. He has a regular diet of dusted crickets, greens, and fruit. A couple weeks ago I noticed he was having trouble eating because his mouth will not open wide enough for his tounge to shoot. What could be the cause of this? Any help is greatly apprieciated.

welcome to the forums!

Sorry to hear your cham is having troubles with his tongue. Usually thats a sign of supplement deficiency's. You might not be giving him enough vitamins or the proper vitamins that he may need.

The three he needs are Calcium w/ NO d3, Calcium WITH D3, and a Multivitamin. Calcium w/ NO D3 everyday, Calcium WITH D3 2x a month, and Multivitamin 2x a month. This is the schedule he should be one. I'm not 100% sure his problems are caused by this. If your schedule is completely different from this then that may be the cause.
