Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - Veiled male, about 3months (so i was told), he is in my care 1month
  • Handling - Maybe 3-4 times per week, he scratch on glass, i open the doors and he climb to my hand, sitting there for 3-4mins and then come back to his viv.
  • Feeding - Crickets from petstore and grasshoppers from meadow. About 10-12 per day. I give him food in feeder and after work i give him more from hand. I don't have special gutload, just orange, carrot, sweet potato, cucumber, apple etc. what i have at home and for dry gutload flakes, linseed seeds, dried figs, dried plums, breadcrumbs, rusk, sunflower seeds
  • Supplements - Calcium powder from pharmacy (biomin H), Reptivite with D3 and Roboran H (almost same as reptivite. Plain calcium every day or 6 days in week. Mixture of reptivite + roboran + calcium 1:1:1 every 4-5 days. I dust very lightly, because he don't eat crickets too mutch dusted
  • Watering - I saw him drinking in first week in my care, he chased drops of water on the glass (he even drink from hand sprayer), but after 2-3 days he stop. I am using hand sprayer 1-2 times per day
  • Fecal Description - Never been tested for parasites, poo is dark brown with white part. White part have very little yellow or light orange part (maybe 10% max). He defecates almost every day.
  • History - Previous owner giving him calcium only 1 time per week and exoterra multivitamins every day, he lived in exoterra glass tank with about 20-30 brothers and sisters, he was biggest from them

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Dimensions are 60cm length (23,6"), 38cm width (14,96"), and 90cm height (35,43"). Glass terrarium with ventilation on top and bottom front. Here are some pics of it https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/veiled-chameleon-lighting-advice-help.158861/#post-1364331
  • Lighting - Schedule is 12/12. Arcadia D3 7% 26W compact with Ott-lite 26W daylight. Basking is up only for 1-2hrs per day because of higher ambient temp in summer
  • Temperature - from 22C (71F) on bottom to 28-30C (82-86F) on top. If basking is up there is 34C (93F) under it. I have 1 thermometer with probe, 1 in right bottom from exoterra, 1 on top right(looks like exoterra but is from another brand) and 1 digital combo thermo/hygrometer in middle left
  • Humidity - I have constant 50-60% humidity in my apartment. In vivarium, he have 68-72% humidity. After morning misting with hand sprayer, humidity rise up to 99% and drops slowly for 1hr to 72-74% again.
  • Plants - Schefflera, Ficus benjamin
  • Placement - Viv is on 120cm cabinet in living room. Top of the viv is in 210cm height from room floor.
  • Location - i live in slovakia - central europe

Current Problem - He's first shedd taking him about 4hrs max, that was several days since i brought him to new home. He started shedding again almost 14 days ago and still he have almost full upper part with old skin. I even tried to hand mist him with warm watter 5-6 days ago with no luck. He does not seem to be eating less or have problem with his old skin. In fact, i am more concerned than he is at this point. Can it takes this long for veiled to shedd or should i go to vet with him?
