Veiled looks stressed in new cage.

Only been there a week and is in living room with more action than he probably use to have. still runs when u look at him and is always dark colored.
Looks healthy eats and drinks good.
Guessing it just gonna take a bit for him to get use to his new room and enclosure just wanted to get a second opinion.
Heres a pic of him. Hard to get since he runs when he sees me. but he has alot of cover to hide in. Hard to find sometimes.

Try not to bother him at all. Only go in to mist, feed, and turn off/on lights. Low traffic areas are ideal, so either make your living room low traffic or move him else where.

Chams do way better in a low traffic area. My bedroom isnt low traffic but the only people that make traffic are myself and my BF. If we get a new cham the traffic that we do have stops except feeding/misting/cleaning till the cham gets used to us. the we gradually introduce other things such as me vaccuming around the cages, moving chams from cages to free ranges. if my chams are out of this room unless its outside, then they stress other than that there isnt anything i do in my room that bothers them. its better to get the aclimated to low traffic than it is to throw them in a highway of things that peopel do that are totally un natural to a cham. the things we do are frightening to them.

Hes in my basement living room around a corner out of direct line of sight. Im usually the one in the basement watching tv. i'll keep distance for a while and see how he does and move if it doesnt get better.
also he seems to hate misting. I've tried warm and room temp water but when im misting plants if it hits him hes outta there. he does hang his head in the drip plenty. its a fairly fast drip since it goes to a drain so hes getting plenty of water.

I guess I am feeling contradictory today-but all of my chams live amidst the general calm-chaos of my house, my kids and hubby and myself walking around, the ever looming Great Dane and no one shows dark stressed colors, hides, or looks otherwise freaked out. I have had shy chams, and I adjust cages accordingly. I generally find that if someone is stressed it is something in or very near the cage. I am not however advocating placing cham cages in high activity (ping pong, Wii, floppy kids).

sounds like my house! lol....but it doesn't seem to bother my cham either.....what kind of great dane do you have? i love them!!
