Veiled Hates Misting...

So I was curious what my options are, I occasionally put a drip on her cage, which some she sometimes enjoys but usually not. She has real plants that she LOVES to eat. Her favorite is her hibiscus. I have two so I can rotate them out so they can regrow. Well she is about 6 months old, and runs away from me hissing everytime I mist her cage. I started misting just the plants so she can lick it off if she wants... She is very picky. She loves veggies. I gave her iceburg lettuce because of its high water content the other day and she loves it, but her poop gets a bit runny so I usually avoid it.

So what should I do about misting? She is not dehydrated.

Continue the mistings whether she likes it or not. You need to to do this to spike your humidity two or three times a day. Also, iceburg lettuce is not the most nutritionl of lettuces. I would try something dark green like romaine. Just spray it down with water before you feed it to her so she can get some hydration from that. I would also run the dripper daily. It helps with the humidity and also is a constant source of water if she chooses to drink.

Is the mist really fine and blasting the animal? Mine do not like misted either but the do like to be "rained" on. Pump the mister so there isnt a ton of pressure in it. This will help with the spray not being so fine. Water the top of the cage and let it sorta build up on the screen. After a short moment it will collect enough to make it simulate rain more than a blast of mist. My animals will either come up to the top of the cage and sit in it or stay in the plants if they are not thirsty. I like schefflera plants because they hold little puddles of water so if the animal doesnt drink right off it has a longer opportunity to get water. I also keep montanes so my room always has good humidity and the water collects and stays on the plants longer.
