Veiled Fall

Well, it happened. I was trying to pull the tube for his water dripper thing out of a zip tie and it was stuck so I let it go thinking it would remain close to it since it is zip tied to a twig that runs upwards, instead it flopped to the side and scared the urate out of my Veiled and he fell from the very tip top of his cage all the way to the floor at kind of an awkward looking angle.


It scared the poop out of me it was just a loud low thud.

He turned as bright as I've ever seen him and was hissing like crazy at me (which is nothing new, he's about 4-5 months old now and has recently decided my hand is a threat to him). He eventually crawled himself back up to his favorite hidey hole and hung out there for a bit.

I tried putting a super worm on my hand and having him eat it (I've been trying to at least make him not try to eat my fingers every time I reach towards him, at least let me pick him up 30% of the time or something). Well he wouldn't have anything to do with me just hissed.

So I wait 10 minutes then I fed him since it was his normal feeding time and he ate 6 of the 7 I put in. I took the other one and put it in my hand and brought it up to him and he ate it out of it.

So I'm thinking he's ok but I was just wondering if anyone had anything I should watch for or look for on him.

More than likely he is fine, but you can look for the obvious like swollen limbs or not gripping with them, things of that nature. If he got bruised, he will turn black in that area. As far as internal injuries they supposed are able to inflate their lungs to ward off injuries, but I don't know if that is the truth or a myth.
