Veiled eating moss?

Hello. I know veiled are/can be omnivores, but earlier today I found him eating some moss (the Exo-terra bricked moss) I have at the bottom of his enclosure. I keep the moss in the drip collecting bowl (I plan on getting a piece of mesh to cover that since my crickets tend to fall in it also) and a little on a nearby log, he ate some out of the bowl which is always wet. Hes been eating crickets and drinking water just fine but this is the second time ive seen him go after the moss and im worried since...its moss.

Could it be that im not giving him enough crickets? And will the moss harm him?

No idea about how much you feed, but do get rid of the moss before the lizard becomes impacted. i understand the idea was to prevent the animal drowning?
Tip: A plastic tub with lid, such as tupperware/kitchen, or icecream container can be used. cut all but the outside rim from the lid and use flyscreen under the lid stretched tight, replace the lid.
no more crickets in it and your lizard cant drown, or become impacted.

if your lizard is deliberately eating moss, try offering fresh leafy green vegetables instead, but avoid spinach. :)

Thanks for the tips. I went out and got a tuperware dish and some mesh screening to cover it with to replace that bowl. And yes he was deliberately eating the moss, so ill try feeding him some greens tomorrow.

He is only about 3" long from tail to head, still fragile. But hes eating good, drinking and gets around pretty quick. He has been urinating and pooping regularly as well and it looks healthy.
