Veiled colour change??

Hi all,

Got my Cham today, he's ace, called him BUD,
Got a question already
Rught
When he is in his viv, his colours are pretty dull , but when he comes out, he goes bright green with yellow bars,
Just wandering what causes this?

IMHO, its likely because you have taken him out of his territory (cage) and he is "on guard" for any dangers.

Stress

Chameleons react to stressful situations differently by altering their colors and patterns they display. They also darken their colors to absorb heat. So I would say he gets nervous/stressed when you take him out of his enclosure. When you put him back in he darkens to reach an optimal temp.
