Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone could tell me what kind of stance this is (relaxed defensive etc.) I’m a new owner picked him up yesterday.

Is he laying down completely on you? I wouldn't handle him for a few more weeks to let him get comfortable with his surroundings and new home.

thank you for the quick reply, yes it’s me, it wasn’t really planned sort of thing he just went up my arm instead of going down into the enclosure he went back in when I offered after a little while, I will refrain from handling for a few weeks.

I'm still trying to get my guy used to me. Right now, I'm hand feeding almost everyday (just one or two bugs, he eats the rest out of him bowl) to hopefully get him to somewhat like me eventually. He doesn't mind my hand or me going in the enclosure now but when my girlfriend does he freaks out.

I am not so sure that is a male... Can you take pics of the hind feet. I want to see if it has a tarsal spur... Your looking for something like this.

The laying down with tail curled is more of a fear response. Bright green color indicates stress.

I have no idea why he just stopped and relaxed like that, he was the same when I first put him in the enclosure just slightly more stressed (car ride home).
I’ve got the exact same issue doesn’t mind me but the gf as soon as he spots her his spot start to darken. She hates it I think it’s hilarious. ?

Oh I may have made a mistake there I will have to take a closer look and get a pic when she/he is a bit more visible, hiding at the moment.

Thank you for the info I didn’t know I only attributed darkening as a sign of stress.

You will learn what their behavior and color changes indicate. Typically bright means stress but it can also mean that they are hot so they lighten up their color to not absorb heat. Darker when basking is absorbing heat. Dark can mean that they are cold. They will tail curl out of fear/stress, anger and posturing to make you back off, and when sleeping in a relaxed state. Every thing works with aspects of their husbandry. LOL it is all about the critical thinking and observing your cham and it's behaviors.

It’s awesome! I’m still figuring my little guy out and I’m sure he’s doing the same with me ;)
