I just got a 9 month old male veiled chameleon 3 days ago. Ive noticed his feet will slip a bit while climbing and that he has slept on the floor or close to the floor of his cage the past 2 nights. Is there any particular reason why he would do this? At night the lowest his cage gets at his basking spot it around 70-75 F and during the day between 80-90 F, the bottom of the cage doesnt get much cooler either, its hovering at about maybe 5 degrees lower then his basking spot. Humidity is also kept between 60-70% but sometimes it does get up to 75%. I believe he needs more horizontal branches but since he is so new its a huge stress on him to take him out and fix his cage which I have done once already. The inside of the cage is a very fine mesh while the outside is bigger, and I notice him trying to climb the side of the cage but not being able to. I also haven't noticed any poop in his cage and I feed him 5-7 crickets daily. Im really worried about him and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chameleons can act a bit off for the first little while after being moved into a new home. I would add more vertical branches like you mentioned and appropriate misting feeding and supplementing as we'll fill out the "how to ask for help " form in the health section.
Hope all turn out well for you

Did you say that you were heating at night too? Fill out the help sheet and look at the care sheet available on this site. Some pictures of your new baby might help too.
Everyone on here will help as much as we can but we need to know as much as possible.
lets just hope that it is just a new owner worrying too much ;)

This is my boy Gilligan, my dad was holding him so I could set up his cage better which is why he is showing so much color
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, Male, about 9 months old, had for 4 days
Handling - Taken out twice, once just to see him, and 2nd to try and set up his cage better
Feeding - Just crickets so far, but I did buy waxworms as well today
Supplements - I dust with plain calcium daily, the first meal I dusted with herptivite and will do herptivite and calcium with d3 twice a month
Watering - I mist every time I see the vines are dry, and have a fogger that is on a timer for ever 2-3 hours that will drip water as well, if I am gone for a few hours I set my dripper up to drip slowly onto some leaves
Fecal Description - none so far
History -Purchased at the LLLReptile store in Oceanside, CA on Saturday 5/24/14 and driven to my house in my dad suburban on sunday (about an hour and 30 min drive in his cage)

Cage Info:
Cage Type - mesh, 2'x2'x4'
Lighting - UVB 100W and vitamin 50W
Temperature -During the day the basking is between 85-90 F, at night 75-80F, the bottom of the cage is about 75F during the day, dont know night time temperature, just put the monitor in the bottom as well today
I do not heat at night.
Humidity - between 60-75% during the day and hovers at about 60% at night, I mist every time I see the plants dry, have a fogger system on an auto timer for ever 2-3 hours for 10 min or so, I also turn on a dripper if I will not be home for a while
Plants - no live plants right now, I plan on getting some in the future when I get him a bigger cage, I have plastic vines that I attached to the cage by thin metal wire
Placement - On the corner of my desk in front of my bed, can see out window and into the hallway if my door is open
Location - Redondo Beach, CA

Also I am worried about my terrible sleeping habits affecting him, I am up to 3-6am on a daily basis, watching movies on my computer or doing homework, and when I go back to school I will be sharing a house with my friends who will probably have some parties and am worried how the vibrations are going to affect him and his sleep. Should I try to start him on a schedule similar to mine or keep with the 7am-8pm light cycle I have set up? Sorry for all the questions, im just a very worried new mommy and am afraid he has health health problems since he has fallen and having trouble climbing and gripping things and dont want to make things worse.
(sorry I didnt post this info before, I didnt know about it since im new to the forum :()
