Veiled Chameleon Food

Hello everyone, i am new and only 12 years old but don't think im not responsible my veiled chameleon is doing very well. I have one quick question, she is two months and she only eats crickets and no meal worms because they are not good for her. What age should i feed her silkworms, horn worms, wax worms and a lot others you can post on a comment. I love my little girl and she is named Clea. i find that a cute name also if you live in boca raton maybe we can talk because i do to!

Welcome to the forum!

You said..."What age should i feed her silkworms, horn worms, wax worms and a lot others you can post on a comment"...you can feed her them when she is able to eat them....when they are an appropriate size for her mouth. Some of the worms can be a little longer than would fit in her mouth because she should be able to bite them "in half" and deal with them.

Females can lay eggs without having been mated...so once she's between 4 and 5 months old its important for her to have a place in her cage where she can dig to show you that she needs to lay eggs.

Do you use supplements? Do you gutload/feed the insects a nutritious diet?
What UVB light do you have?

Oh thank you so much and yes i do give her calcium and gut load the crickets and the uvb is an exo terra glow reflector 100 watt i think it may be smaller watt

You need to get in touch with Bocajan (a member here) that lives in Boca.....she's a really nice lady with ALLOT of chameleon knowledge.

"exo terra glow reflector 100 watt"

I do not think this is a UVB lamp-UVB is essential to your chameleon-can you be more speific about your lighting Clea?

Thats where i got mine. and yes it is 18 inches but i actually before i didn't have coil bulb i had compact. Maybe they are the same. Just saying because someone wanted to know
