Veiled Chameleon, adult length?

I have a veiled, have had him for almost a year (August), right now he's about 6 inches. When I bought him, he was about 2 months old. I've read that they get about 18, even up to 24 inches. Now my question is, does that include the tail?

yes it does, females tend to be the smaller of the two... they range from 14" to 18" so ive read.
