Veiled chameleon’s eyes closed during the day

I noticed that my chameleon had his eyes closed during the day. It is about 6 and lights turn off at 7. He doesn’t seem to be fully sleeping because as soon as he heard me walk into the room he opened his eyes again. Which he doesn’t do around 9 when I go into the room to feed my hamster. Is this normal behavior?

If it’s just one hour before lights go out, that’s nothing directly to worry about. This will probably be an isolated thing. When happening frequently and more earlier then it’s starting to get issue (several causes).
For now keep a close eye on it.
