Veiled Cham won't lay eggs ???

My veiled chameleon Kiwi is about 7 months old and looks like she's ready to lay eggs. She doesn't eat or drink right. I have a 2.5 gallon garbage can in her enclosure for her for her to lay and we just recently put her in a 10 gallon garbage can and she still doesn't even show interest in digging. What should I do ?

Do you have a laying bin in her enclosure at all times?

Also she will need complete privacy to lay her eggs. If she sees you looking she might abandon her hole and become egg bound. You might also find my egg laying blog helpful.

How do you have the soil for her ? Is she still eating and drinking ? Has she been walking to bottom , or Patrolling , anxious ?

Don't keep disturbing/moving her. You will push her into eggbinding.

She hasn't been eating as much as she usually does. And yes very anxious. I recently went to a reptile expo and they told me to put her in a garbage can full of coco fiber and if she digs she's not ready and I kept her in there for a couple days and hasn't shown any interest in digging so I guess it's not time yet

Your sure they said if she's digging she not ready ? That is incorrect info . When a female chameleon digs she finding her perfect spot to lay her eggs . They often will dig several test holes .
