O.K. I'm a new member but have refered to this forum many times. I hope I'm not duplicating posts as lighting seems to be a question in every forum. I just want to make sure the decision i'm making is a good one.
From what I've read ZooMed ReptiSun 5.0 tube light is the way to go. I have been looking at purchasing a ZooMed ReptiSun 5.0 CFL. The problem is I've read contradicting info on whether they are or aren't safe.
I've read the issues were 2009 and earlier designs and the newer ones were safe. Others say to stay away from them completely.
I would like to go with the CFL since I won't need to purchase a hood saving me some money. I don't want to put my chameleon at risk though.
Below is the set I was planning on going with.
Is there anyone out there with a UV meter that has used or knows anyone that has used one of these and can verify the readings put out at certain distances. Thanks in advance.
