Veiled 8month old Subadult: Small or just slow growing?

Hello guys! I have a chain petstore veiled named Darwin. I got him as an itty baby and have had him for 7 months, so he's 7-8months old. His SVL is ~4". I don't have previous experience with chameleons. Title says it all - is he weirdly small or just slow growing to his adult size?

Me for scale!

Chams tend to grow in spurts and they never completely stop growing. There's a lot of size variation. If he didn't get perfect nutrition as a hatchling (or his parents didn't) he might end up smaller than some others but that is hard to pin down. Regardless, he looks very nice and healthy to me.

He may be a bit on the smallish side, but he could easily hit a huge growth spurt.

I have a male that i thought was going to be a smallish boy because at a year old he seemed smaller than i thought was normal.

Now that hes almost 3 years old, he has literally doubled in size from when he was a year old.

He is now about 18 inches snout to tip of tail.
