So my friend found a veild Cham last night walking home from work. Today I told her to take him in to a vet cause the chameleon has not been looking good, keeping his eyes closed alot but eating drinking well, the vet told her aside from being malnourished , his eyes are burnt from the sun so he'll never see again. I was just wondering if anyone has anyone else heard of this happing before?

I think I'd look for another vet!

If chams could be blinded by the sun we wouldn't have any animals surviving their life in the wild. A dehydrated, stressed, malnourished cham may certainly shut its eyes most of the time. That is a common sign of health problems. There are some CF UV bulbs on the market that can damage a cham's eyes due to the more focused intense UV radiation they emit.

Showers, lots of misting, hand feeding, proper humidity and nutrition may help the cham recover and its eyes may start opening on their own.

Burnt from the sun????

As Carlton said, every cham would be blind if the sun caused chams to go blind.
I strongly agree that your friend should find a different vet.
Maybe her new cham has treatable eye infections that this particular vet simply doesn't recognize or know how to treat.
Kudos to your friend for caring enough about the cham to take him to a vet.
I do hope she takes him to another one.
