I have a R. Temporalis pygmy chameleon. I have only been feeding her crickets. What else can i feed her so she has a more varied diet?
Waxworms?
Silkworks?
Roach nymphs?
And can she eat vegetables?
It can be difficult to vary the diet of smaller chams but there are definitely lots of options. Here's a few commonly available feeders that can add diversity to your chams diet.
Small silkworms
Roach nymphs
Hatchling mantids
House flies
Fruit flies
Isopods
Bean beetles
Edit: although some larger species will eat fruits or vegetables on occasion, pygmies are strictly insectivores.
I have used baby horns, baby silks, little butters, and baby mantids to vary of my pygs' diets. My adults have never shown any interest in fruit flies - they're just too small. I don't really like isopods because I had a pyg that shot one on the belly I guess (must have flipped itself over) and the bug then rolled up trapping the tongue so I found the pyg just sitting there with the isopod in its mouth because he couldn't swallow it. I had to gently crush the bug to release his tongue. May have just been a one time freak coincidence that it happened that way but I don't use them any more.
