Vacation

Hey guys! I just wanted some tips as I am going out of the country for a week and I wanted to make sure Cosmo is taken care of.
I have my aunt coming everyday to check on him and feed him. He is 8 months old and I just started feeding him every other day opposed to every day. (As that’s what I read was best to do as they get older). With that being said I always pretty much hand feed him or put a roach on a branch and he LOVES to hunt it.. I have tried the putting them in a cup route but he tends to never eat out of the cup unless I’m holding it..
I wanted to go the cup route being my aunt is not to fond of bugs but she is my only option. I don’t want to stress him out by taking him to a vet or something where someone could watch him.
Any tips on trying to get him to eat out of the cup? I’m at work right now and this morning after his mister and lights went on I put the cup in there hoping for the best when I get home…

I would opt for a permanent feeding station, like the shooting gallery. https://tkchameleons.com/products/shooting-gallery?variant=30018608595032 Attach it, leave it in place and put the feeders in. It may take a short time for your guy to get used to it, but once he does, you’ll find him every now and then going to it and looking to see if any bugs have magically appeared. I had one who used to sleep inside of his even! This is my girl peeking inside of hers the other day.

My trick is showing the bird feeder cup close to my chameleon with full of roaches. Let him see the bugs in the cup. Once he notice. Let him watch you attach the cup where you want it. He will know he will have to travel there for the rewards.
