Need some input here friends. I have my parsonii in the garage for winter brumation. He hides a lot during this time and tends to avoid a lot of light, even in his old enclosure. Since the area is so large I thought I'd use this bulb I had leftover.
MyComfyPets UVB Light and UVA 2-in-1 Reptile Bulb 100W for Bearded Dragons and All Reptiles (400 UVB) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWSJKJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_33b4DbM9BNMKS
So I set it up a few feet away and most of his spots are reaching anywhere from 1.0-3.0 on the solarmeter. Then around that, between leaves and hidden(where he usually is), it's about .3-.5. Right where the beam of light focuses in a small section it reaches up to ~10.0! His schedule, even in the summer and less in the winter, is bask for an hour or 2 and then retreat into the shade. So I was thinking of maybe just running it for an hour or 2 a day max. During brumation, little to no food for several months, I'd imagine his metabolism and need for d3 is pretty close to halted. Really not sure about this though. Any thoughts would be great. I highly doubt I'll ever find him in the 10.0 spot, but in the case that he was I wouldn't want that to hurt him. Would an hour of that do any damage? How does that compare to 8-12hrs of very low uvb?
